Mind Goals offers both cognitive and educational assessments for children, as well as ADHD assessments for adults.
Cognitive Assessments (intelligence testing) help determine an individual’s general thinking and reasoning abilities, and can assess various domains of your child’s cognitive capacity. Cognitive assessments help identify strengths and weaknesses, and assist with exploring giftedness, specific learning disabilities, intellectual disability, autism and ADHD. We conduct cognitive assessments on children aged 2.5 to 16 years, using the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence – Fourth Edition (WPPSI-IV)or Wechsler Intelligence Scales for Children – Fourth Edition (WISC-IV).
Educational Assessments identify the academic strengths and weaknesses of students aged from 4 to 19 years. The results help support decisions with regards educational support requirements, diagnosis of a specific learning disability, or to help design interventions or acceleration. We use the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT-III) to conduct educational assessments.
Adult ADHD Assessments may help those battling with difficulties such as lack of motivation or hyperactivity, impulsivity or concentration, to find an answer to their struggles. For many, it will be a relief to understand that ADHD, once diagnosed, has been the source of these difficulties. In adults, ADHD presents differently to that in children, as it can be more subtle. The adult may be organised and functional, however mentally may feel like they constantly have hundreds of browser tabs open in their mind. The ADHD assessment includes in-depth questionnaires, clinical interviews and diagnostic tools.
